Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN and works as a SportsCenter News Anchor. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual since she was nine years old, a valuable ability that allowed her to secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami and gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then it was announced that the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Covering stories related to drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas border, she was reporter for news on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news on English at 9 pm and after which she became a news anchor until 10pm, before returning back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. She was also given more responsibility. She also did segments on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also hosted on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was a host of sports for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. She worked in the same position as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1985, in Mexico City. She is older than her sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. Within a brief time her father separated from her mother and she then remarried in 1995 a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in 2006. While on a vacation Antonietta spent the time at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed an offer to work. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she would like her life to be, visited Mount Union University to see if the school suited her. In the end she was enthralled with the campus. The university offered her major. After completing her studies, she was accepted to the University as a major of media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was an affiliate. He encouraged her to believe in herself and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her. She, determined to live up to his expectations and never failed him.
